Red Oakleaf Lettuce have gorgeous oak-shaped leaves that are medium green, with red and green veining underneath a red surface blush that turns a deep burgundy as they mature. This group of lettuce differentiates itself from other varieties due to its thinner, softer leaves. With a mellow, nutty and sweet flavor, oakleaf microgreens are perfect additions to any salad.
Red oakleaf lettuce is very one of the best varieties to grow for gardeners who are just starting out. Oakleaf lettuces are hardy and resistant to hot weather, and can be grown easily using a hydroponics setup. However, do note that lettuce requires a slightly lower EC (soil salinity) than other greens.
The seeds can be grown and harvested either as microgreens, baby vegetables, or even the adult lettuce plant. Green Oakleaf seeds are available as well.
